By Jim Root, President LFPOA I have had several riparian’s contact me concerned about the low water level of Lake Fenton. The water level has been discussed at every meeting for the last year, but for different reasons. In the summer of 2021, we had a high water level. This was due to beaver dams in the drainage watercourse, which is part of the drainage system for the entire lake.
About E. Coli: swimming hazards, testing and prevention. What is E. Coli?
Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a type of bacteria (single cell organism) that is used by the State of Michigan as a water quality indicator. When E. coli is found in surface waters, it means that there has been fecal contamination. While E. coli itself may be harmful to human health, other disease causing organisms might also be present. Watch this short video to learn more about E. Coli. Minutes of the October, 2022 LFPOA board meeting. At this meeting the LFPOA board and members voted unanimously that the LFPOA should send a letter to our local elected officials at the township and state level stating that the Lake Fenton Property Owners Association does not support the state control of Short Term Rentals. There was also a good discussion on weed treatment results, native vs. invasive weeds and lake levels. Sheriff's patrol, a boat wash at the public launch and other items were also discussed.
